Hurst "Hemi Under Glass" Car

Driven by Bob Riggle, this was one of the original "wheel stander" that captured the fascination and imagination of countless enthusiasts and spectators at every event it went to. Three versions of the Hurst "Hemi Under Glass" cars were built on Plymouth Barracudas and wowed bystanders until 1975 when Bob Riggle moved back to Arizona.

The "Hemi Under Glass" was so popular, it was miniaturized and made into a 1/32nd model by Aurora and 1/25th scale by MPC. The MPC kits, #703 and #717 are particularly valued amongst model car collectors.

In 1992 Bob Riggle revived the Hemi Under Glass project and completed a new replica of the '68 model in 1995, and continued to amaze crowds all across the country with his extended, full-track wheel-stands.
