1969 Hurst Oldsmobile |

|

The 1969 Hurst Oldsmobile was quite difference in appearance to the older Hurst/Olds. The 1969 car was adorned with Firefrost Gold striping on white paint, with outrageous "rural mail box" hood scoops and a wild rear deck spoiler.
The styling excesses were intentional, for the 1969 car was designed first and foremosta s a traffic-stopper for Oldsmobile showrooms. It was highly visible image car for both Olds and Hurst. Like most Hurst projects, the Hurst/Olds had go as well as show.
A Hurst shifter – a Dual Gate automatic – was found in every Hurst/Olds. Hurst also offered an engraved dash plaque showing the original owner's name. According to Oldsmobile Club of America member Al Manti, 602 cars had the plaque. Twenty-five of these stayed with Hurst and five with Oldsmobile. Oldsmobile records show 906 1969 Hurst/Olds were built.
